Before I start the article, I will just clear to all of you that this article/post is NOT an Advertisement. It only expresses my thought as a blogger. Thank you.MyRO, a Philippine Private Server which was launched last 2007, is dominating all of the Philippine Private Servers for 3 years straight. IntenseRO was launched last October 2009. Just some months after launching, it became an instant hit! With daily active users of 1000-1600, it became so popular that even foreigners are playing it!

IntenseRO VS. MyRO
Now. What is the difference between this servers? IntenseRO has a rule - You must speak ENGLISH on most of the towns. While MyRO doesn't have that rule. MyRO can refine equips on the Mid and Lower, while IntenseRO doesn't. There are still a lot of differences between these philippines private servers, But I'm getting lazy to type, so I'll post another article regarding this comparison.

-This was jRO proposal project.
-New rides/mounts for each job. [Even gunslingers]
-Currently the stage is set for them to be Rentable, through Cash, Quests, and Events. *Please note the actual mechanics to obtain them isn't finalized yet.

According to a interview that was done with Chris Ruiz, Gravity's Art Director, this is what he had to say in a Q and A....

Q: Fênix: And how about the expanded classes in the Renewal?
A: Yes there are new jobs on the way for All expanded jobs, they’ll continue right from base 99 up to lvl 150.

Sounds like the stat limits will also go from 99 to 120.

4. Remember hearing about rumored jobs like Gangsi, Death Knight, and Dark Collector? Well they been in the client for some time, but im seeing things change little by little for them. DOTA 2 ANNOUNCED, COMING IN 2011!

After a long wait and all the rumors Valve has announced official release of DotA 2 in 2011 which will be released on both Mac & PC. As you may already know, IceFrog was hired by Valve in late 2009 for the development of most popular Warcraft 3 Mod - DotA. Now, they are about to release Valve DotA 2 in which the whole DotA concept will be ported in upgraded manner.

The vital change in DotA 2 is that it will run on Valve's Source Engine which will remove all the Warcraft 3 limitations. All the heroes, items, terrain, buildings will be ported same as in current version of DotA. Anyone who plays Warcraft 3 - Dota will instantly recognize DotA 2. However, there are still some things which are new in DotA 2.

Following are some features Valve introduced about incoming DotA 2:

In-game Voice Chat:
DotA 2 will have integrated voice chat feature which will allow players to communicate during game without using 3rd party software.

Leaver AI replacement:
Disconnected players will be replaced by AI bots which will take control over the hero. It will be available in unranked matches.

Heroes Voice:
DotA 2 will feature new voice work. You'll get amusing lines from heroes as they deny the enemy team last hits on creeps, and champions who have backstory connections will trade quips when nearby.

Rewards & Matchmaking System:
Valve is using it's traditional Steamworks as a matchmaking & community rewards system which will allow you to create in-game rewards for participating in community forums.

Coaching & Training System:
Once again, Valve is coming with a great innovation of coaching system which will be used to train a beginner to learn DotA 2 to sustain a respectable position in the community. It will allow veteran players to login as a coach. Coach can see beginner's screen and can get private voice chat during the game.

It is indeed a revolutionary & surprise step taken by Valve by entering in the world of MMO-RTS games with the help of IceFrog. Finally, DotA Fans had some relief after hearing some of the features of the upcoming DotA 2. The upgraded heroes are still looking remarkable in the images. It's good that Valve DotA 2 team revealed something but fans will still consider it as a drop in a ocean that IceFrog still refused to disclose his name in the community.

2010 Q4 RO1 & RO2 Updates
Hey Guys,

Been a great while since I last posted here.

Sorry for the delay with things, we're trying really hard to kick off the end of this year going into 2011 with alot of content. I'm going to go over alot of stuff in this post incase some of you guys might have missed the some stuff. Also I have some updates regarding RO2: Legend of the Second.

RO1 - ENTER Renewal Continuation Phase II.

We're finally entering Phase II of the renewal developments, now most of clients and databases around the world have been either updated, or in the process of being updated soon. This was a very LONG process to see each country get stabilized so that going commercially would be a smooth transaction. I must say - I'm very proud of the development team pulling it off with such little mess ups.

Now things are alot more organized in the development pool.

SO what does Phase II contain?
Well mainly balancing issues, Bugs, and un-released 1st phases implementations. I don't want go into the details with the nitty gritty with Stats, HP changes, Aspd, etc. since it's still going to be tweaked around with till it's well stable. So for now - I'm gonna explain some new features and content that'll be release soon between the next few months.

The team have already had plans to develop a 2nd 2D layer that stacks on your character sprite, but this time, it'll be shown BELOW and ABOVE. The system for the new 2D Layer known as CROSS 2D, we can set the new sprites to appear Above or Under the character avatar in any given frame.

So whats the point of the new 2D Layer?
Simple - Players will now have more customizable options - In the Player INFO tab there will be something called Customize Character, in there a player will be able to change and rearrange accessories.

So yes in short - Wings, Bages, Accessories, Etc. will be added soon.

On our end we've been experimenting with more 32bit sprites looking to utilize this further - Players will be able to see some of these in the upcoming patches with our Mobs. I can't go into details why or what we're planning it for, but it's mainly to give you players a much richer experience.

Next are the New Mounts/Rides:

I previously did a talk about these with Rafa over at Ragnatales some time ago. Now you'll be able to get more details on just what these are for, and how to obtain one.

SO what do these do?

1. They're currently planned to be Cash mounts.
2. You can not attack with these.
3. Your mount does not change as you job change.
4. Each mount is currently Job specific.
5. Some will empower the user with a special buff.

Future PLANS:

1. Lvl specific Mounts with Added Features.
2. Mounts that Evolve.
3. More Equip-able gear to each mount.

NEW Rune Knight Design :

I've talked about this before as well with Rafa over at Ragnatales in an interview, explaining and teasing new art works of the re-designed Rune Knight.

Future PLANS:

Currently we're looking at Indonesia [Dewata] and Nightmare Scarab Dungeon.
Up Next are - Cat Island, Izulde Dungeon Expansion, Bio Labs Expansion and Alfheim.

Izulde Dungeon Expansion:
Now Let me explain alittle about the Izulde Dungeon add-on. It'll be only accessible through certain Net Cafes in Korea for certain period of time, currently the plans are for 3 months. However this might all change, later on. The point of this new business model is to keep close relations with their Cafe partners who still cater to Gravity exclusive games. This is also to drive alittle more attention back to Izulde as a new chapter will start to unfold.

Now don't be alarmed if you think you'll never be able to play at Izulde's new floor...because you will. After the promotion, the mobs EXP and stats will change, as the gate to the new floor will be unlocked to everyone. However, I can't promise if this expansion to explore will be accessible through Cash or not.

Bio Labs Expansion:
Preparations will soon commence for the implementation of the new mobs which will feature the remaining 2-2 Rebirth jobs. [Paladin, Champion, Gypsy, Clown, Creator, Stalker, and Professor]

You'll be able to find them in the Labs at the 3rd floor.
Also - their AI functions and use of party skills will be modified. This will allow everyone a fair chance to explore the Dungeon now. The mobs will feature party skills to reclaim their toughness.

Alfheim:
A new location which is actually a location from the pervious Ragnarok2 :Gotw - This time though players are finding themselves in the footsteps of Satan Morroc. As you'll learn the story between the mighty Thanatos who once slane the demonic Satan Morroc. Discover how the two crossed paths, and learn much more about Alfeim and Morroc.

Players can expect a new version of the Satan Morroc and a new Foe that joins the parade of chaos.

Arunafeltz:
The Story is going to go back to the roots, this time to build up more story with-in Rune-Midgard itself. This episode's story is actually being composed by Mr. Lee Myung-jin - so expect some reference's from the Manga, that could lead up to new twists for the manga itself.

Expanded Jobs:
I know alot of you guys been asking WHEN are they going to come out, and honestly I can NOT disclose WHEN the date will be. However, I can assure you that you can see these within Late 2010 into sometime 2011.

1. The 1st one to be released is the Expanded Super Novices. As players will now have a larger skill pool to choose from. "Hyper/Ultra Novice" [name might vary]
2. Next will be the new Gunslinger & Ninjas. As Gunslingers will be promoting new single shot skills to save bullet consumption and Ninjas will be able to Change their battle stances and formation giving them more battle options. Early/Mid 2011.
3. TKs & Soulinkers - Mid/Late 2011.

WoE Guild Expansion:
This is roughly simple to explain, Guilds can now further INVEST on their guilds bases to expand the dungeon into lvl 2. The more you invest, the more you can start inviting other users to pay to visit your dungeon.

Also - Expanded collection of Treasure Boxes, that will feature some new items.

Other Plans for Guild Expansions have not been finalized yet.

Episode 19 Ash Vacuum: All you need to know

I strongly believe in RO BM Ryan Sacares who said that “Ragnarok is like Rock and Roll… it never dies”. Yeah!

Ash Vacuum Feature List

Episode 13.1 pushes Ragnarok beyond the Midgard continent and into a newly discovered world. The new world holds new content for high level characters and for the first time has monsters above level 99.
The following is a breakdown of the new features/changes added in Episode 13.1.
Maps
A gateway was constructed at the Morroc Dimensional Rift.
A Midgard expedition camp exists on the other side of the rift in The New World.
The Splendide Fields are added west of the Midgard camp in the new world.
The Manuk Mountains are added east of the Midgard camp in the new world.
Two new guild dungeons are added for the new Arunafeltz and Schwartzvald castles.
Added a new memorial dungeon instance to the Orc Village.

Ragnarok Online (Korean: 라그나로크 온라인), often referred to as RO, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game or MMORPG created by GRAVITY Co., Ltd. based on the manhwa Ragnarok by Lee Myung-jin. It was first released in South Korea on 31 August 2001 for Microsoft Windows and has since been released in many other locales around the world. Much of the game's mythos is based on Norse mythology, but its style and settings have been influenced by a wide variety of international cultures. The game has spawned an animated series, Ragnarok the Animation, and a sequel game, Ragnarok Online 2: The Gate of the World, is in development. Player characters interact in a 3D environment but are represented by 2D character sprites for front, back, and side facings

Setting
An event taking place in Morroc, a desert town
Ragnarok Online is divided into a series of maps, each of which has its own terrain and native monsters, though many monsters are present in multiple regions. Transportation between maps requires loading the new map and monsters cannot travel from one map to another.
There are three major nations in Ragnarok Online, the first of which and where all players start is Rune Midgard. The Schwaltzvalt Republic, an industrialized neighbor to the North, was added in Episode 10[3] and Arunafeltz, a religious nation modeled after a combination of Israel and Turkey is the subject of Episode 11.[4]
A series of other, minor nations also exists, generally modeled after an ancient society in the real world, examples such as Amatsu, which is modeled after ancient Japan,[5] and Louyang, which is modeled after ancient China.[6]
Areas from Norse mythology are also included, such as Niffleheim, the land of the dead, and Valhalla, where players can become Transcendent Classes. New map content is constantly being added to game in the form of Episode updates.

Gameplay
Ragnarok Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, where players can create several characters per account, but can only control one character at a time. Basic gameplay involves killing monsters wandering around the game world in order to gain experience and level up. This is referred to PvE combat. Players can accept optional quests from non-player characters for special rewards and to flesh out the game's fantasy world. An extended series of quests have to be completed for most job advancements. There is no main narrative, and players are free to explore the game world in a non-linear manner.
PvP combat is the other main type of gameplay, of which there are several forms of. See the section Player vs. Player.

Job System
Jobs are one of the most important aspects of Ragnarok Online, as the job a player chooses will have profound implications on his or her strengths and weaknesses, both in a party and outside of one. The job system includes a total of 39 different jobs, divided into 6 categories: Novices, Super Novices, First Job Classes, Second Job Classes, Transcendent Classes and Extended Classes. First classes consist of six basic archetypes; Swordman, Magician, Archer, Acolyte, Merchant, and Thief. Each specializes in certain skills, and uses class-specific weapons and gears.
All players start in the game's first class, the novice. Novices are, as their name implies, largely a tutorial class built for allowing new players to get the general feel of the game. Once reaching a level goal, players can change to one of six first classes, or choose one of the expanded classes, along with Super Novices. Upon reaching another level goal, first classes can then change into one of two second classes. Once the player reaches base level 99 and job level 50, they can elect to "rebirth" their character, and relevel as a transcendent class, which has more skills and a larger number of status points to work with, although the experience curve is much higher.
A player will change jobs multiple times over the course of playing, though the number of changes will be determined by choices made by the player.

Private servers and emulation
Ragnarok Online's official server software is called Aegis, which is used by iRO, kRO, euRO, phRO, bRO and other local versions. Several server emulators have been developed for use in hosting private servers. Regardless of the legalities, many private servers are active today, and it is debatable whether or not their existence has created a loss of revenue for legitimate official servers. With many official servers changing over to a Free-to-Play with cash shop revenue model, their future viability is called into question. Although many private servers have no donate-for-advantage models, some players feel more secure in the environment. Server emulation follows the development of the Korean version, thus they often contain more recent updates than other local versions, although quality is often far below that of the official servers.
One of the main differences between official and private servers is that the rates are often modified in private servers to make it faster for the players to level, or to obtain specific items. Sometimes private servers also modify original content, add new items, and implement a donation system to make money out of these custom items. There are servers that implement a new job by deleting an original job (e.g. Padawan, Jedi). Adding or deleting maps is also very common in private servers, as well as relocating NPCs (Non-Player Characters) to a common area. In addition, there are some private servers that try to imitate official servers by staying as true as possible to the original game.
While the legality of private servers is debatable, it is against the Ragnarok Online EULA to be a founder or owner of a Private server (commonly referred to as a "p.server"). On the iRO (International Ragnarok Online) game policy page of their website it is listed as a felony, and if the owner/founder is currently a member of the iRO community and playing on a Pay to Play server (or P2P), it will result in their ID being deleted.Two of the Ragnarok Online private server emulators include eAthena and Aurora.

Ragnarok Mobile
Gravity Co. Ltd. released 8 separate games for the mobile phone allowing players to experience the game on the road. Each version focuses on the main aspect of the acolyte, thief, merchant, mage, archer, and swordsmen class based on the version of the game they have. Players are able to advance their characters using the attributes STR, AGI, VIT, LUK, INT, and DEX. Though not placed in the server, players control their character and complete a series of quests or tasks. As players earn zeny, (the in-game currency), they are able to send the zeny to their real accounts. Along with that, a ranking is present where characters are ranked by the amount of zeny the character has.

Requirements: You must have learnt Venom Knife and Sonic Blow in order to learn this skill. Talk to her, tell her you want to learn Sonic Acceleration and she will ask you to complete one of the three tasks. The 3 tasks are assigned randomly. When you reach the location you are assigned to, there will be NPC chat window triggered and ask you want to do. There are chances that you will receive status change effects such as sleep, poison, freeze etc while you inspect the place to find the treasure. You will have to try a few times (walk a few tiles away and go back) until you success. Here are the 3 possible tasks: Task 1: Sphinx Level 2 - Old Coffin (in_sphinx2,212,267). She will ask you to bring her treasure from an Old Coffin located at Sphinx dungeon level 2. There are more than one Old Coffins on the map and only one has the treasure you are looking for. When success, you will obtain a Sapphire to bring back to Esmille. Task 2: Sphinx Level 2 - Stone Statue (in_sphinx2,13,163). She will ask you to bring her treasure from a Stone Statue located at Sphinx dungeon level 2. There are more than one of them on the map and only one has the treasure you are looking for. When success, you will obtain a Ruby to bring back to Esmille. Task 3: Pyramids Level 4 - Flooded Crypt (moc_pryd04,85,96). She will ask you to bring her treasure from a the Flooded Crypt located at Pyramids Level 4 just to the left of the center water area. When success, you will obtain an Aquamarine to bring back to Esmille. Just follow the marked location on the map above. Bring the jewel back to Esmille and she will teach you the skill.

If it fails, go back to Father Arthur to get another antidote (you will NOT need to collect the items again). Go back and forth until you can cure Sloutii and he will teach you the skill.

How to get to Niflheim? Look at the RO World Map. You can get a Kafra Teleport Service from Morroc to Comodo, then from Comodo to Umbala and from there walk your way to Niflheim. Yhelle can be found at one of the five spots marked on the map. It stays in one spot until someone found it then it warps to another one. It looks like the order of warping is in the marked order. You have to "catch" it and hope it give you an egg. There is only 1/3 chance you get one, the other times it just ran away. Note 1: You can ask friends to camp the spots, however only the bard that is doing the quest can get an egg. Note 2: DO NOT EAT THE EGG! You can only get 5. If you accidentally lost one (or more). Read the next step for a possible quick fix.

Tauren Chieftain Guide and Strategy. Cairne Bloodhoof the Tauren Chieftain is one of the most anticipated heroes on Dota 6.60 (the other one is Batrider). This post will be a place to share guide, walkthrough and item builds for Tauren Chieftain. This guide is still on proggress, so any feedback or suggestion from you is really helpfull :)

Story
Since ancient times it has been prophesized by the Tauren elders that a Chieftain will come, strong as the mightiest warriors and wise as the eldest shamans. After many years of wandering the sacred lands, seeking wisdom from his forefathers, Cairne Bloodhoof has proven himself as the long awaited hero. Cairne carries with him the spirit of his mightiest ancestor, and now the ground shakes with the combined strength of the Chieftain and his guardian spirit. No physical nor magical barrier can reduce the power of his enchanted halberd, the weapon used by his guardian in ancient times. Such is the power of this axe that it can split the very earth itself. Seeking revenge for the ravaging of his homeland, Cairne will soon bring his wrath upon the Scourge.

SKILLS:

Echo Stomp

Calls upon the spirit of his ancestors to join him in an earth-shattering echo, rendering nearby foes unconcious. The spirit and Tauren Chieftain both deal 80 damage in the area, the Spirit dealing magical damage and the physical form dealing physical damage. Unconscious enemies will wake if they get hit. If the spirit is seperated from you, it will still perform its part of the spell.If you damage a knocked out unit, it no longer becomes knocked out/immobile.There is a spirit version of you doing the stomp animation with you at the same time (you can see it as well). You deal physical damage and it deals magical damage.Physical Damage: 80Magical Damage: 80Channel Time: 1.4 secondsAOE: 500Knockout duration: 2/3/4/5 secondsManacost: 100/115/130/145Cooldown: 15Only player based damage can wake heroes. Damage dealt during a brief period after the stomp will not awaken heroes (0.65)
The knockout caused by this skill is very nice. 5 seconds is nice amount to prepare a combo attack. The only drawback that it needs 1.4 seconds to cast it. Use this together with Ancestral Spirit to land it better.

Ancestral Spirit

The Tauren Chieftain sends forth his guardian ancestor to bring ruin upon his foes. While seperate from the Chieftain, the spirit will mimic his movement and damage any unit it passes through. When it rejoins the Chieftain, it grants him bonus damage and movement speed for each enemy it has struck.Magical Damage: 120/160/200/240AOE: 275Damage per creep: 3/6/9/12movement speed per creep: 1%Danage per hero: 10/20/30/40movement speed per hero: 5%Cooldown: 19Manacost: 110Max Charge Time: 8If the spirit has not rejoined with you before that period, it will charge towards you to move back into you and enchant you.Enchanted Time: 9 (The duration you have the buffs after the joining of the ancestral spirit)
This skill is very helpfull to reach an enemy from far away. The distance you can cast your spirit is further than Blink Dagger, use this. You can also cast this on forest or hill. But you will need some practice in order to move the spirit well.

Natural OrderPassive.

The Tauren Chieftain uses wisdom gathered throughout the ages to reduce everything to its most basic level. Removes base Magic and Physical resistance.AOE: 250Percentage nullification: 25%/50%/75%/100%Note: This exists on the spirit as well.
Lots of people is missunderstanding this skill. It's only remove the base magic and physical resistance. But some people interpreted 100% percentage nullification(level 4) as totally remove the resistance and make the damage pure. But yes, if your enemy doesn't have Hood of Defiance, your magical damage will pure ;) This skill counter Davion very much as his base armor is very high.

Earth Splitter (Ultimate)

Using his mighty axe, the Tauren Chieften rends the very earth itself, sending a jagged crack under the feet of his enemies. After several seconds the earth implodes, sending his foes tumbling inwards. Any unit caught in the implosion will take damage based on their maximum life and have their speed slowed for a short time. Implodes after 3 seconds. Deals 35% of a unit's maximum HP.Cast Range: 1600Travel speed: 600 msDelay after maturity: 0.5 secondsAOE: 350Damage: 35% of each unit's maximum HP (half magical, half physical)Slow Amount: 30/40/50%Slow Duration: 3/4/5Cooldown: 90/75/60Manacost: 175Example: You target a point, from where you are towards 1200 in the angle you click on, the split starts growing.The split grows at 600 ms, so it takes 2 seconds to reach the end.After it reaches the end, it plays an animation preparing for the implosion for 0.5 seconds and then it pulls everyone in and does the dmg/maim.

-Max Ancestral Spirit for harassing and farming. You're a melee hero and Ancestral Spirit is help you harass and farm. Combine with Echo Stomp you can stun your enemies from distance. Earth Splitter taken as fast as possible because it's really a great skill with long cast range, huge area and decent damage.

Core Items:

Bracer,Battle Fury,Power Threads

-Tauren Chieftain is a versatile hero. At first, i thought he was like Earth Shaker (Raigor) who merely a spell caster. But after some games with him, i realize that he's more like Admiral/Kunkka. He has 3 active skills, but his DPS is high and his passive support this. With the bonus damage and movement speed from Ancestral Spirit, you can kill lot of heroes in the process. To maximize this potential, i suggest Battlefury and Power Treads as the core items. The Treads will give you attack speed and more movement speed to chase your opponent after your stun/slow. Battlefury is work nice as your spells is area and you will give huge damage at ease. Not to mention the mana regeneration.Some Bracers for early last hitting and additional HP, if you farm well, you can skip this and buy Battlefury instead. Town Portal is a must to set a gank or helping team mates.

Luxuries:

Sange And Yasha, Refresher Orb OR heart of Tarasque OR Shiva's Guard OR Assault Cuirass

-Sange Yasha is now cheaper and gives you more movespeed bonus. Tauren has high base movement speed (310), with Sange Yasha and Spirit bonus, almost every enemy get captured by him. Get a Refresher Orb to take 70% of enemies HP in an instant with double Earth Splitter. If you want to tank, go to Heart of Tarrasque instead. Shiva's Guard for more AoE damage and cover your lack of armor. Or if you want some DPS, get Assault Cuirass instead.

Strategy

-Start of with 2 Healing Salve and Circlets. Your main priority is to last hit/deny and aim for your Ring of Health immediately. If you have a stunner lane mate, try to aim some kill with Ancestral Spirit and Stomp combo. If you don't, you still can harrass with your Spirit. Get your ulti as fast as possible.After getting your RoH, you are hardly to harass and can stay a long time in the line. Aim your Void Stone to make Perseverance. After getting your boots and maybe some bracers, start ganking. With Spirit + Stomp combo and a decent team mate, you will likely net a kill. Start with Spirit and place it on the middle of your enemy. Immediately Stomp, only blinker enemy can evade this. While your enemies still sleep, use your ulti if you have it. Then go near him and finish it with your mate. Remember if a hero attack him, he will wake up. So think twice before attack the sleep enemies. In the team fight, if you have a initiator(Ex: Magnus, Earthshaker, Tidehunter, Enigma), cast Earth Splitter as soon as your friend inits. If you don't have it, place Ancestral Spirit into the middle of your enemies (the distance you can cast the spirit is further than Blink Dagger range!). Cast Echo Stomp and continue with Earth Splitter. After that, start roaming with your Battlefury and the bonus movement speed. It's not strange to hear Triple Kill from Tauren in this version. -This items build is for maxing your potential as a ganker. Phaseboot combined with Firefly is a great choice to chase the enemies while slowing them with Sticky Napalm. Bracers to add some HP and Void Stone will cover your mana regen. Force Staff is used to help catch the enemies. Flaming Lasso has short range cast. With Force Staff you can push enemies heroes to your range (need great timing) or push yourself to them (easier, but more risky as you're the one who come to them). Why not Dagger? I prefer Force Staff because it adds more Intelligence and relatively same purpose with dagger. Force Staff also add damage and attack speed which you're lack of.

LUXURIES:

Guinsoo,Bloodstone, Shiva's Guard

-Get Guinsoo for additional disable, great for ganking. Bloodstone also gives you health and mana, let you spam your skills on team battles. Shiva's Guard for additional AoE attack.

OTHER ITEMS:

Lothar's Edge, Keren's Dagger of Escape

-Lothar is actually not a bad item for him. Windwalk and immediately pulling one heroes into your team is sure a good idea. The drawback is that it easily counterable with Dust/Gem.Dagger is also viable for Batrider. Blink into your enemy and capture it. But i prefer Force Staff to help land his ulti though.This guide is still improving and need some feedback. But what about you? Have different idea or skillsets? Share it here ;)

Ragnarok Online 2 is a very bad game that has almost nothing to do with Ragnarok Online, let alone is it any fun to play. You start the game out by naming your weapon. You get ONE WEAPON per your class. You can change your class as many times as you like. Way too focused on meaningless quests. I don't like how they made it look like Maple Story...etc etc.And that's why I went back to playing iRO.

Current RO has been developed by so many people that it's honestly a clusterfuck(AFAIK 1-1 and 2-1 classes were done by one team, 2-2 classes by another team, and now 3rd classes are by yet another team, not to mention art direction changes, etc.). I mean RO is a clusterfuck by definition, but right now it's double clusterfuck

The only thing that was good from RO2 was the BGM music.The graphics were neat and all but looked the same as a lot of other games. The quests were annoying except for the nice long and epic quest that I think there was like... 1 of.the savage bebe looked like a miniturized pig. not a piglet but a pig. It's stuff like that which I disliked. It tried too hard to be like every other wow ff whatever game on the market.

Glad they Scrapped it.. it was looking way to much like wow. If i had a part in it I would put it after Morroc get resealed but the power of resealing him turns almost everyone back into novices (except the NPC's). That would sorda make sense. I bring back the original 6 classes and maybe 2 more and bring back trans later.Maybe have the game with Light cell shading so it still looks 2dish but is 3d. Since its 3d its easier to give all weapons a a separate look. Also they do do thinks like the higher stat you have the more different you look and attack. like your attack animation is different depending on how high you Agi .

Frankly I wouldn't play RO2 just because it's called Ragnarok Online 2. It doesn't quite remind me of anything RO and so it just doesn't make that connection...@Toledo: Well without renewal we don't get 3rd classes. I know a lot of people aren't sure about renewal but are just nodding anyway since it's the only way we can get 3rds...

In my opinion they should stop making a new ragnarok and rather recode the current RO client from scratch for better network latency, fix graphic problems (white maps, wierd stretched polygons when you zoom in too much and have an object in front of your camera, not sure how to describe it) and add additional features that you can activate if you want, like Normal Maps, Dynamic Lightning, BumpMaps or more complex 3d models for houses, crates, etc.Also a weather system and day/night feature would be pretty sweet.Ragnarok renewal could be pretty competetive with recent online games if they'd fix the bugs, improve the code, add some interface features and add some optional graphical improvements.

@Steax: Out of entire Renewal, I'm least hot about the 3rd classes. What's been released so far is wasted ideas and terrible sprites. They don't really work well with the whole transcend system, either. Artifically stretching the entire system just to accomodate them means other classes will be made weaker. And to add insult to the injury, even though one of the points of Renewal was to balance things a bit, almost every 3rd class so far has a "FUCK YOU" skill. It's like fighting fire with fire.I'd much prefer 2-3 classes instead.

Problem with that is that what about all the 99s? It gets to a point where you have the gear and the level, so now what? The only current lasting "end-game" is WoE, and even still that's only 4 hours a week.

The networks are taking different routes to gaming glory. ABS-CBN has its wholly owned unit Amped Games. The unit registered 2.5 million active users for 2007 and wants to double that to 5 million in 2008, said Mitch Padua, Amped Games division head.
GMA is catching up by forging an P800-million joint venture called I-Play with listed conglomerate IPVG Corp., which has an existing active player base of 2.5 million.
Without going into figure specifics, you can obviously see the difference in site traffic. This can mean a few things.

If you notice, the 3rd player trumps both of these sites in terms of average site traffic, and yet, they aren’t even mentioned in the article. While the local gaming market can pretty much be defined by online games, seeing these outrageous claims just makes me scratch my head (after all, I used to work for a videogame magazine).
Let me put it this way. Judging by the 18,000 that was able to fill up the Araneta Coliseum in last night’s game 7, why not prove all the claims and stage an event there? Surely, if each of these gaming companies really have 2.5 million existing gamers, how hard can it be to mobilize about 18,000 of them?
I just hope we can put an end to all these fabricated figures. The local gaming industry would be better off that way.
*2.5 million gamers to be increased to 5 million in 2008? Give me an effin’ break. Visit the Amped Forums and you’ll see that they only have around 37,800+ members.

Ragnarok Online (Korean: 라그나로크 온라인), often referred to as RO, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game or MMORPG created by GRAVITY Co., Ltd. based on the manhwa Ragnarok by Lee Myung-jin. It was first released in South Korea on 31 August 2001 for Microsoft Windows and has since been released in many other locales around the world. Much of the game's mythos is based on Norse mythology, but its style has been influenced by Christianity and Asian cultures. The game has spawned an animated series, Ragnarok the Animation, and a sequel game, Ragnarok Online 2: The Gate of the World.

Setting
Ragnarok Online is divided into a series of maps, each of which has its own terrain and native monsters, though many monsters are native to multiple regions. Transportation between maps requires loading the new map and monsters cannot travel from one map to another.
There are three major nations in Ragnarok Online, the first of which and where all players start is Rune Midgard. The Schwaltzvalt Republic, an industrialized neighbor to the North, was added in Episode 10[3] and Arunafeltz, a religious nation modeled after a combination of Israel and Turkey is the subject of Episode 11.[4]
A series of other, minor nations also exists, generally modeled after an ancient society in the real world, examples such as Amatsu, which is modeled after ancient Japan,[5] and Louyang, which is modeled after ancient China.[6]
Areas from Norse mythology are also included, such as Niffleheim, the land of the dead, and Valhalla, where players can become Transcendent Classes. New map content is constantly being added to game in the form of Episode updates.

Job System
Jobs are one of the most important aspects of Ragnarok Online, as the job a player chooses will have profound implications on his or her strengths and weaknesses, both in a party and outside of one. The job system includes a total of 39 different jobs, divided into 6 categories: Novices, Super Novices, First Job Classes, Second Job Classes, Transcendent Classes and Extended Classes. First classes consist of six basic archetypes; Swordman, Magician, Archer, Acolyte, Merchant, and Thief. Each specializes in certain skills, and uses class-specific weapons and gears. Class progression
All players start in the game's first class, the novice. Novices are, as their name implies, largely a tutorial class built for allowing new players to get the general feel of the game. Once reaching a level goal, players can change to one of six first classes, or choose one of the expanded classes, along with Super Novices. Upon reaching another level goal, first classes can then change into one of two second classes. Once the player reaches base level 99 and job level 50, they can elect to "rebirth" their character, and relevel as a transcendent class, which has more skills and a larger number of status points to work with, although the experience curve is much higher.
A player will change jobs multiple times over the course of playing, though the number of changes will be determined by choices made by the player.[8]

Player vs. Player (PvP)
Player vs. Player in Ragnarok Online takes place on a series of maps identical to the game's major towns but devoid of all exits and non-player characters. Access to these maps is restricted to players level 31 and above and comes in two modes: Yoyo Mode and Nightmare Mode. The primary difference between the two modes concerns the penalties for dying; Yoyo Mode has no penalty for death, while Nightmare Mode has the experience point loss found in all non-PvP/town maps and the additional risk of the loss of a piece of equipment.[9]

War of Emperium
Also known as the "Guild War," for two hours on any day of the week (depending on the server) an event called War of Emperium (commonly abbreviated "WoE") takes place. Guilds that have obtained the Seal of Approval skill may attempt to enter and gain control of a series of castles available in-game. On the fourth floor of each castle lies the Emperium; if a guild breaks another guild's Emperium, that guild gains control of the castle. If a guild can maintain control of a castle until the end of the War of Emperium it will retain control until the next War of Emperium and may gain a variety of benefits for victory, including access to special 'Guild Dungeons' if certain castles are controlled, which give the members of the holding guild a definite advantage in gaining experience and items.[10] During War of Emperium hours, the castle maps are set in PvP mode and behave much the same as the standard PvP maps with a few exceptions, in particular the lack of damage indicators and a large decrease to the effectiveness of magic, skills, and ranged attacks. War of Emperium is the most popular feature of the game[11] and most players participate in it at least once per week.[12]

Audio
The background music of Ragnarok Online currently consists of over 100 individual tracks, composed, arranged, recorded and mixed by SoundTeMP and Hankook Recording Studio, with some tracks by NEOCYON and others. The game's music spans a wide variety of genres and musical styles, including trance, techno, jazz, rock, and orchestral. New tracks are added to the soundtrack as with every new area added to the game world.
"The memory of RAGNAROK" Ragnarok Online Original Sound Track is a best-of soundtrack album featuring background music in addition to remixes and vocal arrangements of certain pieces. The game's official theme song, "You & I," is also included. It was developed by SoundTeMP and released by Gravity in 2006. The album features vocal arrangements of certain pieces, performed by Lee Seung-Yeon, Lee Jeong-Hee and Seo Ji-Hae. The album's booklet features text in Korean, Chinese, English, and Japanese.[13]

Ragnarok Mobile
Gravity Co. Ltd. released 8 separate games for the mobile phone allowing players to experience the game on the road. Each version focuses on the main aspect of the acolyte, thief, merchant, mage, archer, and swordsmen class based on the version of the game they have. Players are able to advance their characters using the attributes STR, AGI, VIT, LUK, INT, and DEX. Though not placed in the server, players control their character and complete a series of quests or tasks. As players earn zeny, (the in-game currency), they are able to send the zeny to their real accounts. Along with that, a ranking is present where characters are ranked by the amount of zeny the character has.[14]

Kafra Shop
As Microtransactions have become an increasingly favored revenue stream over monthly subscriptions for online multiplayer games, the Kafra Shop (an Item Mall) was added to iRO (International Ragnarok Online) on June 19 2007. Users are able to purchase Kafra Credit Points with U.S. dollars as a currency for the special items limited to the Kafra Shop.
This service appears on most other localized servers of Ragnarok Online such as jRO (Japanese Ragnarok Online), idRO (Indonesian Ragnarok Online), pRO (Philippine Ragnarok Online) and kRO (Korean Ragnarok Online), using the currency of the respective countries for points instead of U.S. dollars, of course. In addition, upgraded forms of normal equipment can be rented using Kafra Points.[15]

F2P server
There are official "Free To Play" servers where players can play Ragnarok Online free of charge, with a few differences in game play. Major differences are the limited use of the Kafra Teleport service, upgrading weapons and armor never have a "safe zone" in which you cannot break the Weapon/Armor, items have had their costs changed or been removed entirely from the game, the Acolyte skill Teleport has been modified, and prices on certain NPC items received a moderate increase. Changes vary from server to server.
The use of free servers has resulted in a higher reliance on the Kafra Shop item mall for revenue stream. Many localized versions of Ragnarok Online have implemented free servers during 2007-2008.
There are also numerous free servers which have altered the game so drastically that it is hardly recognizable with things like new gears, levels, and clothing/hair dyes and styles. Though mostly considered "free to play", many of these free servers rely on donations for items only obtainable through donations. Since this offers a huge advantage to those who donate over those who dont, most players are compelled to pay for items.[citation needed]

Ragnarok Online's official server software is called AEGIS, which is used by iRO, kRO, euRO, phRO, bRO and other local versions. Several server emulators have been developed for use in hosting private servers. Regardless of the legalities, many private servers are active today, and it is debatable whether or not their existence has created a loss of revenue for legitimate official servers. With many official servers changing over to a Free-to-Play with cash shop revenue model, their future viability is called into question. Although many private servers have no donate-for-advantage models, some players feel more secure in the environment. Server emulation follows the development of the Korean version, thus they often contain more recent updates than other local versions, although quality is often far below that of the official servers.
One of the main differences between official and private servers is that the rates are often modified in private servers to make it faster for the players to level, or to obtain specific items. Sometimes private servers also modify original content, add new items, and implement a donation system to make money out of these custom items. There are servers that implement a new job by deleting an original job (e.g. Padawan, Jedi). Adding or deleting maps is also very common in private servers, as well as relocating NPCs (Non-Player Characters) to a common area. In addition, there are some private servers that try to imitate official servers by staying as true as possible to the original game.
While the legality of private servers may be debated, it is against the Ragnarok Online EULA to be a founder or owner of a Private server (commonly referred to as a "p.server"). On the iRO (International Ragnarok Online) game policy page of their website it is listed as a felony, and if the owner/founder is currently a member of the iRO community and playing on a Pay to Play server (or P2P), it will result in their ID being deleted.[1]

Great news! The world of Rune Midgard will never be the same.
kRO has just announced the names of the new 3rd Job Classes for Ragnarok Online. According to Doddler: “You must be level 99 in order to change into third class. You can change as either 99 base class, or 99 trans class. The primary advantage of going transcendent before becoming third class is that you of course have access to the advanced skills that trans classes offer.”
This is exciting news. It means that there’s still life after 99 Transcendent… I can’t wait.

Males appear like those serious members of the clergy. Females look like the pope in the Rachel temple.

Many new anti-Demon/Undead skills will be added. However selecting them will reduce the effectiveness or lose out on some of the supportive skills.
Added skills that allows Archbishop to do physical melee damage.
Assassin –> Guillotine Cross
The Guillotine Cross looks like Loki. Armors are made of bones and sharp tusks.
There is a DPS (Damage per second) which is very strong but when the skill fail, there will be consequences.
Many different types of poison will be added. In addition, it will be armed with new skills using poisons.
Blacksmith –> Mechanic
The Mechanic is the job of 3rd Blacksmith. The mechanic’s sprite has only one garment.
They can create more new weapons. They can now create auto-attack items for the transcendent.
Improved skills using items rather than direct physical battle.

It is a battle that is being waged with the same intensity as the cola wars (Coke vs. Pepsi) and the fight for supremacy between the leading cellphone companies (Smart vs Globe).
We’re talking about the network war between ABS-CBN and GMA 7. The objective: high ratings which translate into a heftier slice of the multi-billion peso advertising pie. Although the industry includes other players, the two are considered as the main protagonists.
ABC 5, under the old management, has concentrated more on canned shows and has not really created much of a dent in the market. It remains to be seen whether the takeover of Tonyboy Cojuangco will make the station more competitive. NBN 4 is the government station and concentrates on projecting the different projects of the Arroyo administration. Its main source of revenues is the professional basketball coverage.
Channel 11 is owned by the Jesus is Lord religious group and earns revenues mostly from block timers. RPN 9 and IBC 13 are government-sequestered stations so advertisers are hesitant to commit long-term support until they are privatized
For quite a while, ABS-CBN had a commanding lead over GMA. The latter was content to be a strong number two. Ironically, GMA was the number one station during the martial law era in the 70s under the stewardship of current ABS-CBN chief operating officer Freddie Garcia. When the Lopezes got back ABS-CBN after the Edsa Revolt in 1986, the late Geny Lopez was able to convince Garcia to return to his mother station. It was Garcia who lifted ABS-CBN from the cellar to the top of the heap after only a few months on the job.
When Felipe Gozon took over the reins at GMA a few years ago, he told his team that he was no longer content being the runner-up in the lucrative business. His objective was to regain market leadership and trounce ABS-CBN. This meant committing more funds to the station’s operations so that it could produce more local shows and improve its facilities.
The initial strategy was a sneak attack into non-primetime shows, the morning and afternoon slots which ABS-CBN seemed to have neglected. Since GMA already dominated the noontime slot with its variety show Eat Bulaga, the network enticed its viewers to continue watching beyond the noontime slot with soaps and telenovelas.
As early as 5 a.m., GMA was already on the air with “Unang Hirit” which was followed by soaps and a talk show for women. That strategy seems to have worked. Although ABS-CBN continued its domination of primetime, GMA was slowly inching in on the market leader in the non-primetime slots.
The battle then turned to the primetime slots. With the slowdown in the production of movies for the big screen, the two leaders discovered that many of the top stars could be lured to appear in daily soaps, something unthinkable in previous years.
Even topflight directors like Joel Lamangan and Joyce Bernal were amenable to doing TV. ABS-CBN and GMA increased their budgets for what they called teleseryes or telesines. Previously, soaps were simple productions where scenes for a whole week were shot in a day in a studio. On Flordeluna for instance, the characters would just talk on for minutes on end to while the airtime away.
Those days have changed. Soaps are now shot on location and big names like Christopher de Leon, Eddie Garcia, Lorna Tolentino, Robin Padilla, Judy Ann Santos are the main attractions. Elements from movies like explosions, helicopter shots and simple special effects have also been added to make them more attractive.
There was a time when Latin soaps known as telenovelas were in vogue. Credit RPN 9 for starting the telenovela fever with Marimar. Soon both ABS-CBN and GMA rode on the telenovela bandwagon and RPN-9 could not keep up with the leaders.
Recently, ABS-CBN experimented with a soap many dubbed the “chinovela” because it originated in Taiwan.” It was called Meteor Garden and featured the singing group F4.
Even the most optimistic executives of the network could not anticipate the tremendous response of the televiewers. Meteor Garden zoomed to the top of the charts and the Taiwanese heartthrobs over-took Thalia as the latest pop icons.
GMA could not take this lying down and soon bought its own “chinovela” to compete with Meteor Graden but it was obvious ABS won this round. Now Chinese-sourced soaps are outrating their Latin counterparts.
If Meteor Graden was a coup for ABS-CBN, GMA would have its share of victories. Maalaala Mo Kaya is a long-running drama series in ABS-CBN that dramatized supposedly original letters from viewers narrating true-to-life stories. The show gained a reputation as a showcase of the network’s directorial and acting talents. It was also rating quite high.
Then GMA decided to come up with a series called Magpakailanman, which dramatizes stories of real celebrities like activist-beauty queen Nelia Sancho and Sex Bomb dancer Rochelle Pangilinan. It is hosted by Mel Tiangco better known as the “Partner” of Jay Sonza and the newscaster on Front Page. Initially, it did not go against Maalaala Mo Kaya but when the ratings came in, the network knew it had a winner and aired it opposite Maalaala.
Although the ABS-CBN drama series was still ahead, Magpakailanman was only a few points behind. Because of the format’s success, even Maalaala Mo Kaya changed its approach so that it too came up with real-life stories of celebrities.
This is what the competition has done to the two leaders. When one network comes up with a successful show, the other has to come up with own to prove that it is the better network. We are reminded of Jollibee and McDonald’s. Once one puts up one outlet in a given location, the other has to follow suit.
The noontime slot has always been GMA’s pride and joy. Eat Bulaga, which is a co-production with Tony Tuviera’s TAPE has always outrated whatever ABS-CBN has to offer on the same slot. (Ironically, Eat Bulaga used to be on ABS-CBN.) In the early days, it was child star Aiza Seguerra who contributed greatly to the success of the show. These days, it’s the Sex Bomb Girls and their gyrating pelvises that have livened up the show.
Not to be outdone, ABS-CBN came up with Masayang Tanghali Bayan replacing Magandang Tanghali Bayan and its own set of gyrating dancers, the Gee Girls as well as sexy star Aubrey Miles and Fil-Austrian Cindy Kurleto. It also upped its prize in the game portion “Urong Sulong” to P2 million compared to Eat Bulaga’s P 1 million.
Willie Revillame, who was suspended years ago for his tasteless jokes on the old MTB, didn’t quite learn his lesson and continued with his naughty remarks. The regulatory body Movie, Television and Radio Classification Board (MTRCB) took notice and called the attention of ABS-CBN which promptly suspended the comedian as well as co-host John Estrada. Eat Bulaga would have its share of trouble from MTRCB. Joey de Leon had his own naughty encounter with a contestant and also got suspended.
This is what competition has done to the noontime show. One tries to outdo the other in terms of off-color humor hoping the MTRCB is not watching. There was a time when Eat Bulaga used the gimmicks of a foreign show Fear Factor to enhance its ratings.
Contestants were made to eat unappetizing delicacies like rats and cockroaches and that too prompted the MTRCB to issue a warning. That segment is no longer aired on Eat Bulaga.
The competition has also affected the stars of both networks. There have been “defections” on both sides although most of the defectors have gone from ABS-CBN to GMA. The idea being floated around is that the network has not treated them well. An ABS-CBN insider told us however that the network was only too glad to let go of these stars because they were no longer attracting ratings.
The network war has extended to non-programming issues. GMA has complained to the National Telecommunications Commission that Sky Cable, a sister company of ABS-CBN, is tampering with its signal especially during slots when their popular shows are aired, a charge strongly denied by Sky Cable. GMA launched a publicity effort that pictured the network as the underdog trying to fight a giant company.
Recently, the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) suspended GMA for a show that featured Rosanna Roces engaging in a naughty segment with a guest. The network reacted by withdrawing from the organization. KBP is trying to find a way to get GMA back to the self-regulatory body of the radio-TV industry.
ABS-CBN has its own beef against its rival network. It has accused GMA broadcaster Mike Enriquez of saying on the air that ABS-CBN falsifies its ratings report printed in newspapers. The case has been elevated to the KBP.
So who is winning? ABS-CBN continues to be the market leader even as it acknowledges that GMA has improved a lot since the days when it was content to be No. 2. Meanwhile, expect more fireworks from both companies in their continuing effort to win the ratings war.

Hide and seek in the country side
i was playing hide and seek in the country side and had a group of ten people. Since this is the country side there is no lighting available but torches and the moon light allowing us to see. We all agreed on racing back home but since i was the fastest as everyone had claimed i had to close my eyes for 20 seconds and then catch up with them. As soon as i opened my eyes everyone was gone. No where to be seen, since i didn’t want to run i walked and then all of a sudden to my shock i saw a young girl crying and walking towards me. I realised then that her face was covered in blood and her arms were moving really weird then as i froze the girl stopped crying and started floating towards me making no sound and had her hands stretched out as if she wanted something. I almost peed my pants and ran screaming as fast as i could. I told everyone what had happened back at home but none believed me they claimed that i was missing for an hour before i returned. The next day i went back to check out the spot in which i saw her and found a bone of some sort stuck in the earth. i led everyone to the spot in which i found it and they dug it up and found a skeleton of a young girl. It was later discovered that the girl was murdered by her psycho dad. That was really freaky and i had therapy after that to help me in which i went through after the ordeal.

Little Jimmy lived with his mother and father in a big house. He slept on one side of the wing while his parents slept on the other side. But he wasn't scared. He had a TV, a radio, and a toy robot. Sometimes when he couldn't go to sleep he would watch TV, or listen to his radio, or play with his toy robot. Well, one night, he was about to go to sleep the TV went on. He stared at it, then it turned off. He thought that was strange, but still tried to go to sleep. Then the radio went on. He started to get a little frightened. Suddenly a deep, loud voice spoke over the music saying, "Get out of my room." Now he was really scared. He hid under the covers when he heard a noise. He looked up and saw his toy robot walking around the room. It stopped and stared at him. He looked at his right and the remote was floating in midair! He jumped out of his bed crying ad screaming. But before he could reach the door it shut locked on him! Since the lock is outside the door, he couldn't get out. His moter was passing and heard im screaming. She ran to him and screamed, "Jimmy! Jimmy!" The lights turned off and on. The window opened and closed. And the closet opened and closed. The TV, radio, and toy robot went crazy. Then the voice came to him again saying, "Get out of my room!" He screamed and cried. Finally it all stopped and his mother ran to his side and carryed him back to their room. The next night Jimmy was gone. No one could find him. But the next night his parent's TV went on...
